I have to update my link list (a long overdue task) and will be adding those not there already. Many thanks to those who have added me to their blogroll and if I have overlooked anyone, please drop me a line.

I came home this evening and found that I have been reconnected to the world (see the previous post for the details of my internet woes). God willing, I will resume posting this weekend.

I apologize to my readers for not posting in about a week but some external circumstances have conspired to keep me in the dark so to speak. I live in a fairly rural area and when things go down out here, they stay down. First it was the power after a rather impressive thunderstorm (admittedly a little bit scary but what a light show!). Then when the power came back, the cable did not. Since my internet connection is through my cable, this put a damper on my posting. As of today, it has been down six days. God created the world in six days but Comcast can’t get me reconnected to the world in the same timeframe and thus confirms my opinion of their relative capabilities. I am currently signed in to a computer at the Downingtown, PA library to ask all to stay patient.
On the upside, I have used my time away from TV and the net to read some good books and will post reviews for them in the near future. Among them are The Virtue of War by Alexander F. C. Webster and Darrell Cole, Hail Holy Queen by Scott Hahn, and Drawing His People by Michael W. Spreng. I would definitely recommend all of them as worthwhile reading but you will have to wait for the details.
Another thing I have noted is that those who like to spam comments never seem to rest. I have the comments set up to filter all obvious spam such as ads for ringtones and other more offensive nonsense but some do slip through by giving a link and using garbage as their text. I suppose it is a never ending battle. There are also those who seem to wish to use the comment sections of other people’s blogs to publish their own screeds on sundry topics completely unrelated to the original post. If someone wishes to have their words available to the world there are opportunites to do so for free with numerous blog services. It is highly uncivil – and morally questionable – to use the courtesy extended by someone to allow comments on their posts as an open invitation to post completely off-topic material. All comments that do not relate to the book reviewed, the review itself, or the site in general will be deleted.
